INSURANCE EXCESS - LIABILITY REDUCTION OPTIONS
Standard Insurance Excess ....Liability = $2500 (Single or Multiple Accident)
Collision Damage Waiver .........$13-50 per day/Liability = $500 (Multiple Only)
Premium Excess Reduction .....$18 per day/Liability = $390 (Single and Multiple)
21 to 24 YEAR OLD RENTERS
Compulsory Damage Waiver - Multiple Vehicle Only $16/day Liability = $1000
DRIVERS AGE
Our rates apply to drivers between 25 and 75 years of age. For drivers under this age but over 21 years of age, you may still rent a vehicle however a compulsory excess reduction applies and the excess amounts are higher than for drivers over 25 years of age. These amounts are displayed in the 'Optional Extras' fields on the next page and must be selected or they will be added before a booking is accepted.
Options may be available for approved drivers over 75 years of age,subject to some health requirements. Please contact our office on (07) 5450 5090 for details, prior to booking. Conditions may apply.
INSURANCE EXCESS - CHEAP OPTIONS TO REDUCE YOUR LIABILITY
We offer a range of discounted options to reduce your excess liability on the vehicle insurance. (see above) Similar Excess Reduction options from the major car rental companies can cost up to twice as much. Aussie Bargain is again offering incredible value.
For a minimal daily amount, you can reduce the excess amount (deductible) that would be payable in the unfortunate situation where the rental vehicle is damaged or causes damage to another vehicle, or property.
We encourage you to seriously consider taking advantage of this option as accidents in an unfamiliar vehicle are far more common and the resulting damage repair costs, often quite expensive, can ruin an otherwise enjoyable holiday or trip.
Our vehicles are all insured and carry a standard 'Excess' (Vehicle Damage Liability)of $2500.
An authorisation of the hirers chosen excess amount (as a Bond) is required on the nominated credit card, upon collection of the vehicle. This is cancelled on return of vehicle in an undamaged condition, subject to no other charges against this Bond amount.
Unless pre-arranged, the credit card holder must be present on arrival. An opportunity will be made available during this booking process to choose one of these Excess Reduction packages. If you are still undecided on whether you wish to reduce your excess liability, you may choose to select one of these options when you collect the vehicle.
Please Note: The 'Collision Damage Waiver' option does NOT reduce your liability for Single Vehicle Accidents; only for Multiple Vehicle Accidents.
(Single Vehicle Accidents include those accidents in which the driver of the other vehicle cannot be identified and/or where details of the other vehicle have not been obtained).
INSURANCE EXCESS - AFFORDABLE - MAXIMUM PROTECTION PACKAGE
For those who also wish to reduce their insurance excess liability for single vehicle accidents, Aussie Bargain Sunshine Coast have introduced a Maximum Protection excess reduction package. This is available to drivers aged 25 to 75 years and covers both multiple and single vehicle accidents with an excess reduced to $390. Please see Excess Reduction Options during the booking process to make your choice.
REFUNDABLE SECURITY BOND
A Security Bond equal to the hirers chosen excess liability is pre-authorised on the nominated Credit Card on arrival. This is to ensure the vehicle is returned in good, clean, undamaged condition (inside and out) and with the correct amount of fuel.
The security Bond is cancelled / returned after return, subject to a final and satisfactory inspection of the rental vehicle.
The credit card holder must be present on when first picking up the rental vehicle and must also sign the Rental Agreement, unless previously organised.
Cash payment for the vehicle hire is accepted, however a valid credit card is required for the bond and security purposes.
Please Note: A Debit Card is not acceptable for the Bond amount, however is accepted for payment of the hire and accessories.
HIRE PAYMENT
Payment for your vehicle hire is made in full on arrival, or can be pre-charged by agreement. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Cash, Eftpos and Travelers Cheques. American Express attracts a 5% transaction fee.
PLEASE NOTE: THE INSURANCE EXCESS AMOUNT YOU CHOOSE WILL BE PRE-AUTHORISED AGAINST YOUR CREDIT CARD AS A SECURITY BOND
WINDSCREEN, HEADLIGHT AND TYRE WAIVER
If you are concerned about tyre, windscreen and headlight damage, you can reduce your liability for such damage down to nil by payment of only $2 a day, Another BARGAIN DEAL from AUSSIE BARGAIN CAR RENTALS.
FREE KILOMETRES
Our rates quoted include up to 200 FREE kilometres per day for use within the allocated Area. (see Area of Use) This means that if you hire for 7 days you can travel up to 1400 kilometres without additional kilometre charges. Additional kilometres are charged at 0.22 cents per kilometre. Additional or unlimited kilometres are available on hires of more than 3 days within the agreed usage area, subject to an additional daily charge. (Long term hires may have a 50 or 100 km per day allowance). Please contact us for details.
DRIVER'S LICENCE
All drivers should hold a valid full driver's licence (i.e. not provisional or learners). A current acceptable Australian, overseas, or International licence (in English) is required from all intending drivers.
RENTAL DURATION
Minimum car hire charge is for 24 hours from time of pick up. Additional car rental hours are charged at $10.00 per hour up to 3 hours and then a full day thereafter. Payment is to be made at commencement of your rental period by either cash or approved credit card. Sorry, AMEX or Diners Cards, where accepted, attract an additional 5% transaction charge.
AREA OF USE
Aussie Bargain provide quality economy car rental and also cheap car hire options for use on the Sunshine Coast, the Cooloola Coast, the Greater Brisbane area and the Gold Coast. The standard area of use extends as far North as Hervey Bay, as far South as Coolangatta and as far west as Toowoomba. A few 'Local Area Use' vehicles may be restricted to the Sunshine Coast only.
In certain circumstances we MAY agree to travel outside our normal Authorised Area Of Use. This will only be with new or near new vehicles and may be subject to additional conditions of hire. The manager's specifc approval must be obtained to exceed the standard area of use and it must be noted on your rental contract by us.
Vehicles must remain within their authorised area of use or otherwise all kilometer waivers and insurance excess waivers will be void due to breach of contract.
COLLECTION & RETURN
We are happy to collect our customers from either the Maroochydore Airport (Sunshine Coast Airport)or their local Marcoola, Mudjimba and Pacific Paradise accommodation during our office hours of 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Saturday and 9:30 am to 1.30 pm on Sundays and Public Holidays.
Pick Ups from the wider area of Mooloolaba to Nambour to Coolum may be subject to staff availability and minimum hire periods. If you wish to be collected from your accommodation, please add the request in the comments section of the booking form.
Our office is located adjacent to the Sunshine Coast Airport, less than 1 minutes drive from the terminal and is conveniently located in relation to most Hotels and Motels around Coolum, Marcoola, Maroochydore & Mooloolaba.
Please note that due to recent Sunshine Coast Airport Pick Up and Drop Off Zone changes, we are now able to meet you just outside the terminal. Details regarding your Pick Up will be included in your confirmation email.
SUNSHINE COAST AIRPORT COLLECTION & RETURN
From 8.00 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Saturday and 9.00 am to 1.30 pm on Sundays and Public Holidays we offer a quick and convenient collection/return service from our office adjacent to the airport.
Please ring 5450 5090 when you have collected all your luggage and we will advise you of the Pick Up Procedure and Location, outside the Airport Terminal.
A quick trip to our Office beside the Airport, will allow us to complete any remaining paperwork and the supply of your rental car.
It is a reality that flights are going to arrive at and depart from regional airports, outside the normal opening hours of car rental agencies
Some companies have to charge after hours fees that considerably add to the rental costs.
Here at Aussie Bargain we have We have found a solution that is simple and very cost effective. We make it easy for you to pick up or drop off your hire car out of hours.
By prior arrangement, your hire car can be left for collection in, or returned to, the Public Car Park at the Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore) Airport.

The whole process is straight forward and very cost effective. Customers find it an easy process, whether it be picking up their pre-booked and pre-paid car on arrival at Maroochdore Airport after hours or when dropping off their rental car after hours.
Please remember that the vehicle always remains your responsibility until it can be claimed and checked by an Aussie bargain representative.

BRISBANE AIRPORT COLLECTION AND RETURN
For the convenience of visitors to the Sunshine Coast, Aussie Bargain offers a conditional vehicle Drop Off and or Pick Up service at the Brisbane International or Domestic Airports.
Again details of this service will be subject to fees and staff availability and need to be pre-arranged with our office. Please email us or phone us on (07) 5450 5090.
Fees for this service will be automatically added in the booking process when you select Brisbane Airport as your Pick Up and or Drop Off Location.
As an alternative, we are happy to assist with organising shuttle or direct transfer services for our customers.
ONE WAY HIRES TO GOLD COAST
For those who are terminating their Sunshine Coast trip with a visit to the Gold Coast, vehicle Drop Offs can possibly be arranged at the Aussie Bargain Affilliate locations in Broadbeach, Surfers Paradise or Coolangatta. Minimum rental periods and vehicle relocation fees apply.

VEHICLE CHOICE AND SIZE
A regular problem that rental vehicle hirers encounter is arriving at their destination and discovering that the hire vehicle they have booked is not large enough for the volume of luggage they are traveling with. Either reducing the amount of travel luggage or hiring a larger car is the answer
Should you know you will be travelling around hilly places such as Nambour or the Blackall Range, it is wise to remeber that a small car with a small engine may struggle in these environments. Todays small cars with small and very economical engines, don't necessarily have the power and torque to handle steep hills with ease. Automatic cars with larger engines will always cope easier with hills and don't cost that much more to hire for the power benefits and comfort they provide.
So please take luggage requirements, vehicle size and engine capacity into account when reserving your vehicle. A larger substitute vehicle may not always be available on the day.
Whilst every attempt is made to provide the customer's vehicle 'class of choice', rental vehicles are always subject to availability and may occasionally need to be changed or substituted at any time without the ability to give prior notice.
CURRENCY
All prices are displayed in Australian currency and include GST. (Australia's Value Added Tax)
ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
There is no charge for one additional driver as long as they meet the licience and age requirements.
Up to two extra drivers may be added at a fixed cost of $10 per driver. For each additional driver we must sight their licences and they must also sign the Rental Contract and accept all conditions.
Although our vehicles are well maintained and serviced, your peace of mind comes from knowing that we offer FREE 24 hour roadside mechanical breakdown assistance with RACQ.
RACQ call-outs for other problems such as keys locked in the car, assistance with a flat tyre, run out of fuel or left the lights on etc, attract a $70 service fee, plus any additional costs relating to the call out.
No vehicles are to be towed or repaired without the permission of Aussie Bargain Sunshine Coast management. We require you to advise us before any RACQ Callout whenever possible or as soon after as practicable.
EARLY RETURNS / EXTENSIONS OF HIRE
The term of hire is for the period of time described in the Agreement (Vehicle Hire Contract). No refund is available if vehicle is returned before date shown on contract.
Any extension of a hire must be agreed to by management prior to the time and date of return listed on the contract. If an extension of a hire is not agreed to, the vehicle must be returned by the time and date specified at commencement of hire or it may be reported stolen.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Because of costs and loss of hire opportunity and revenue, cancellations made within 24 hours of commencement of hire period will incur a penalty fee of 3 days rental.
Within 7 days - 1 days rental
More than 7 days - no fee applicable
Cancellations within 24 hours, where the vehicle collection point was Brisbane International or Brisbane Domestic Airport, may also be subject to applicable relocation charges.
FUEL
All hirers are responsible for their own fuel costs. Whilst our vehicles are normally supplied with a full tank of fuel, this may not always be the case.
Vehicles should be returned with a fuel level not less than that supplied at the commencement of the hire. Should the vehicle be returned short of fuel it will be re-fuelled by our staff and the deficit charged the hirer's credit card or cash bond. A re-fuelling fee $12 will be charged in addition to the cost of the fuel.
Our refueling fee is deliberately low to encourage customers not to risk missing a flight because of lack of time to refuel the car. Refueling fees with our competitors can often be quite expensive. ANOTHER ADVANTAGE OF USING AUSSIE BARGAIN CAR RENTALS.
CLEANING AND SMOKING IN VEHICLE FEES
We take pride in supplying our customers with a well cleaned and presented, Smoke Free vehicle. We ask that you respect our vehicles and return them in a similar clean state. Mats are provided to make it easy to leave sand at the beach and not in the vehicle's carpets.
SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED IN ANY OF OUR VEHICLES. Minimum Extra Cleaning / Sanitation Fees of $45 will apply when a vehicle is returned in a dirty or smelly condition. If any evidence of smoking within the vehicle is found a minimum $100 CLEANING AND SANITATION charge will be applied. No exceptions.
